  1. You, the borrower, are interested in an equity loan and come to Gap Investors. We process your application.
  2. You provide to Gap Investors all the necessary documents and permits for us to attract investment from lenders.
  3. We communicate with lenders interested in funding your project. We broker the loan with one or more lenders. In the case of small home equity loans, a mortgage lien is placed on your property; for large-scale loans your title is transferred to a registered trustee (a process called fideicomiso de guarantía in Costa Rica), a procedure widely used by commercial bank mortgages. Funds are then provided to you or your payees according to needs.
  4. You pay interest and fees on the loan. At the loan's end you seek traditional bank financing and repay the principal on the loan.
  5. Your payments are received by an account that Gap uses to pay interest and repay principal to lenders.
  6. Lenders gain interest on the loan and receive the principal at the loan's end.
